Ilmainen joulukortti 2018

Tiedän, että jouluun on vielä aikaa. Julkaisen kuitenkin vuoden 2018 joulukorttini nyt, jotta sinulla on halutessasi aikaa käyttää sitä lähettäessäsi jouluterveisiä sukulaisillesi ja/tai ystävillesi.

Videon taustalla soi  Duo Forellin kappale “Keskustelu motellissa”. Se kertoo joulunalusviikon tunnelmista 1990 –luvun alussa.

All right so far

When you are young, and your face is not torn out from the ass life can be quite all right. Oddly it works among men and women, and you have a lot of people around you. That was the case with me also, and I was happy with colleagues and doormen’s friendship was more important than gold. It was a well-known truth that young party sharks are broke now and then. Then the ticket in and out of the bar is a doorman. Despite all this, my man hasn’t smiled at me for days. He still let me in the Pub even though I didn’t always pay him a tip as going out, but the simple chat has disappeared between us.

One night then when my man wasn’t at the door, I asked his co-worker: do you know why the shoe is tight. “He lost 100 hundred marks because of you,” the other porter revealed. “About a fortnight when you came here fully intoxicated, we did bet on you. I said that you are not able to drink the whole stein, and your buddy said, ‘no problem.’ He was wrong, and you have lost your face in his eyes. He’s more disappointed at you than the missing money”, he went on. “I saw this one is hard to fix” I quitted.

One day at the lunchtime I was again on the standing department in the Pub lost in thoughts. In front of me were unfinished beer bottles as people didn’t always have time to drink the whole liquid from the first or the second container1[1]. I was building up the major music scale with the bottles and their contents by adding beer into the cylinders1[2] when it was necessary and taking it away by drinking as needed. I was about to look for the uncorked bottle for the lowest note when someone struck it in front of my nose. I raised my head and saw a tall man. It was an insulted doorman with a smile.

“All right,” I jutted out.

“So far.”

For the People of Karelia Something is Missing on Independent Day

This song tells how the people of Karelia was forced to leave their homes in 1944 when Finland made peace with the Soviet.

As a result of the 1940 Moscow Peace Treaty that concluded the Winter War, Finland ceded the area of Finnish Karelia and other territories to the Soviet Union. As a result, about 410,000 Finnish Karelians,^[1] or 12% of Finland's population, were relocated to the remainder of Finland. My mother and her family was one of those poor people. Below the picture of one of the family houses in Karelia, Terijoki, twenty years after.

At that time nobody lived there, and the house was left without maintenance.

Keski-Kannaksen murre

Taannoin maanantaina (5.11.18) hyvä ystäväni, joka on kiinnostunut Peräpohjolan murteesta, lähetti minulle sähköpostin. Hän tiedustelee siinä, miten minä –persoonapronomini taipuu Keksi-Kannaksen murteessa. Vastasin hänelle viikonloppuna lonkalta puhelimessa taivutuksen, sillä olihan äitini suku Kannakselta. Heti puhelinkeskustelun jälkeen huomasin tehneeni ainakin genetiivin kohdalla virheen, mikä antoi minulle hyvän syyn vihdoinkin tutkia lähes pari vuotta sitten ostamaani ja Lauri Kanteen kirjoittamaa Keski-Kannaksen murresanakirjaa, Parrai päi, ISBN 952-5278-29-8. Nyt kun elämme sunnuntaiaamua (11.11.18) olen löytänyt kirjasta 8 sijamuotoa ja niille esimerkkilauseet. Ablatiivin löysin Väinö Linnan sotaromaanista, Tuntematon sotilas. Taivutukset löytyvät nyt lisättynä ystäväni lähettämään taulukkoon, ks. alla.

Löysin netistä Sirkka Marjaana Rutasen pro gradu –tutkielman, joka käsittelee karjalan murteita. Melkein heti Tällviisii myö haastetaa –tutkielmansa alussa Rutanen mainitsee, että ihmisillä on vaihtelevia muistikuvia murresanojen kieliasuista, koska murteita kotikielenä puhuvat ovat jo lähes kaikki kuolleet, ja esimerkit ovat toisen tai kolmannen polven jälkeläisiltä. Onneksi Lauri Kantee on itse syntyperäinen Kannaksen ihminen, joten toistaiseksi olen toiveikas esimerkkilauseiden löytymisestä hänen kirjastaan, vaikka olen jo sen puolessa välissä.

I got a little help from a couple of my Italian WordPress friends with the Italian verse. Its feeling and touch come close to Latin one. I tried to put the verb at the end of the line, but my friends pointed me in the right direction. It is always a matter of aesthetical taste how much dialect can be worked up. I dropped out ‘Vi sono’ from the beginning of the first line and 4th line is not a perfectly orthodox Italian, but kindly disposed to me.

L’angelo è venuto al cancello

Fiori bellissimi in un vaso
e il vaso è sul tavolo.
Attraverso la finestra arriva
una canzone dolce di uccellini.
Quando chiudo gli occhi,
sento la tranquillità del paradiso.
L’angelo è venuto al cancello.

He said to me “Once I was beautiful drawing was a distressed one. You shouldn’t upload it to your blog.” I was a law-abiding and did what he said.
Tonight I watched the television document on Irish painter Francis Bacon. He gave one fucking damn to fine aesthetic folks. “Go ahead ugly little creature and distress people around the world,” I say now.
