YES FOR THE U-TURN

When I Was

When I was a little boy, I liked to sit in the forest
And looking at how the wind lulled the leaves,
And grass and my reddish hair.
Soon I was sure that all living things breathed
in the same beat, and most of the times,
The harmony rules all beings of the earth.
I told my parents about this happiness
But they weren’t happy.
They worried that the child
isn’t healthy.
At the age of ten, I stood on the bus platform
And we watched how to thick smoke came
From the tailpipes of the vehicles.
I asked my friend would all that gas
Disappear in the air.
He laughed at me:
Of course, it will vanish.
His attitude insults me
And I added angrily:
If it didn’t, there should be
The hole in the sky
For it to go away,
But that whole
Is not possible,
Cause the air
Would die away.
On the sixth grade
I said to my teacher
Who looked down on her
Nose the animal kingdom,
That animals have feelings
And they even think.
The teacher of the biology
Commended me out of the class:
”You are disturbing the lesson.”
When I was at my middle ages
They started globalization.
I realized right away that it wouldn’t
Work in the long run,
But people considered
Me to be a pessimist.
Just now I see
How the virus cor20 and more
Is behind the corner, but nobody cares.
They are sure that everything is back normal
After some months or so.
The world doesn’t need any extra cautions.

I have been in two minds about publishing this poem. I know that people won’t believe anything in time, but the reason for this poem can be elsewhere. I let you decide what it might be. I deny the comments this time because I have no patience to listen to how it wouldn’t be time for U-turn to save humankind.

Always when someone is talking about the U-turn, the message is argued against by saying that humankind can’t go backward. For them, I reply that how many milliards years it is backward when the globe is not surrounded by decent oxygen.

YES FOR GOING BACK TO THE 18th CENTURY

The Best of Andrea Bocelli Vivere

In order to show you how close Interlingua comes to Italian I decided to translate Italian song titles from The Best of Andrea Bocelli VIVERE –Album into Interlingua. Portable LibreOffice for Windows Made This Article Come True

When I bought a new computer just before last Xmas I decided that I won’t fill it up with all sort of applications. Unfortunately soon I realized that I should install LibreOffice Office Software, because it is the only chance to get Interlingua spellchecked. It is a huge resource eater so I decided to give a chance to Portable LibreOffice. I downloaded it from  the URL
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/portable-versions/
Then I looked at the video below and got a very good roadmap for myself. In any way, I didn’t “install” the software to my desktop but right away to my USB Stick. Now I can  use LibreOffice in every Window Computer. A Handy thing while you on the road.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyKkumNDXYM&w=560&h=315]
Immediately after everything was in order I downloaded a couple of extensions, naimly Interlingua and Italian to the LibreOffice Writer from the adresses:

Angel Has Come to the Door - Angelus ad ianuam venit

Beautiful are the flowers in the vase
Smiling to me from the table desk.
Through the windows comes
The sweet song of birds.
With the eyes closed
I feel the heaven.
Angel has come
to the door.

I have got help from Julian Morgan, the Yorkshire Author, to make the Latin verse right. Julian has studied and taught Latin for many years, most recently at the European School of Karlsruhe in Germany.

Julian is the author of various Latin and Greek puzzle books, as well as the Imperium Latin Course, which can be downloaded free of charge from this link: www.imperiumlatin.com

Angelus ad ianuam venit

Flores pulchri in vase sunt
et vas super mensa est.
Per fenestram aves parvae
carmen dulcem cantant.
Oculos quiete clausis
caelum tranquillum sentio.
Angelus ad ianuam venit.

19/10 – 18

I got a little help from a couple of my Italian WordPress friends with the Italian verse. Its feeling and touch come close to Latin one. I tried to put the verb at the end of the line, but my friends pointed me in the right direction. It is always a matter of aesthetical taste how much dialect can be worked up. I dropped out ‘Vi sono’ from the beginning of the first line and 4th line is not a perfectly orthodox Italian, but kindly disposed to me.

L’angelo è venuto al cancello

Fiori bellissimi in un vaso
e il vaso è sul tavolo.
Attraverso la finestra arriva
una canzone dolce di uccellini.
Quando chiudo gli occhi,
sento la tranquillità del paradiso.
L’angelo è venuto al cancello.

aShampoo PDF Pro

Runon skannasin Introduction to Italian Poetry -kirjasta, jonka voi ostaa Adlibriksesta 8,90 eurolla. Kirjan ISBN -numero on 9780486267159. Kirja kuuluu Dover -kustantamon Dual Language -sarjaan. Tämän sarjan kirjoissa alkuperäisteksti on vasemmalla ja englannin kielinen teksti välittömästi alkuperäiskielellä olevan runon oikealla puolella. Sivuja näissä kirjoissa on puolentoista sataa, ainakin niissä kahdessa sarjan kirjassa, joita olen ostanut.

My Father Was a Gypsy

My father was a gypsy in the village.
At the age of sixteen he left his home.
He exchanged his red blood
for the white man’s business suit.
My sister cries her heart out.
She isn’t allowed to dance
the flamenco,
intense beat
Of vagabonds.
My guitar is burning in the fire
And music sheets are wet.

The Better Place of the Silent Souls

Now I am a peculiar man who is left alone in the prison of madness.
I am a poet who has no strength to write normal text behind the bars
in order to get a few seconds acceptance from some reader
who never come to see me where I am kept.
I am a man who has been silenced to invisible
who is thinking of what to do with the physical
dust hut.

The odd call is talking to me about the better place of the silent souls
where I don’t have to be ashamed of myself or defend my existence.
I have urgent to gather what is left and fly high away.
Is that a sin or the end of people’s stabbing
the poor man’s back full of holes so that life
was able to turn into gas
that escapes from
the broken vessel?

SURMA

Kohtalo kajahtaa
sanassa surma:
la morte, la morte.
Sen kelloa lyö
runo Espanjan maailman.
Rummun kalke luo
syvän tunnelman, totuuden
arvosta hetken, elämän,
joka muuten kuin houre
pitkin säärtä juoksee
syvään multaan,
missä ei mitään
on.

The Death

The fate
ring out in
the word: death.
The death, the death,
its bell tolls the poem
of the Spaniard world.
The clang of the drum
Creates the deep touch
Of the truth, of the moment's
value which otherwise
like the delirium runs down
along the leg into the soil
Where nothing exists.

La morte

Il destino
risuona nella parola:
morte.
La morte, la morte
la tua campana suona
la poesia del mondo latino.
Il rumore del tamburo
crea il tocco profondo
della verità, il momento,
il valore, che in caso contrario
come il delirio corre il basso
lungo la gamba nel terreno nero
dove nulla esiste.

Now you can say in four languages: He is a boy. She is a girl. He is the tall boy. She is the beautiful girl.

You are not able to see in the table that “ragazzo” demands the “un” indefinite article form. Usually descriptive adjectives follow the noun in Italian and they agree with the gender and number of the noun to which they refer.  The following abbreviations are used here: n = noun, adj = adjective, sg = singular, m = masculine, f = feminine, sm = singular masculine, sf = singular feminine and sv = singular verb.

For example: a beautiful house = “una casa bella” because the Italian word “casa” (house) is feminine the adjective must also be feminine. This example goes in Interlingua “un casa belle” and in Finnish “kaunis talo”.
